Mario Maker Monday - 26 August 2019
By Phil Myth
For those of you who missed last week’s post, were giving away three copies of Old School Racer 2 for the best three times on the developer’s stage. We’ve decided to extend the deadline for our competition for another week, so get those speedrun times in pronto and bag yourself a free game!
As for this week’s stages, we’ve finally got a level from our community manager Gawny to enjoy, as well as a great desert themed level we found on Courseworld.
As for the level submitted by you guys, this week’s came in via our Discord channel and we have to say, it’s one of the best stages we’ve played in Super Mario Maker 2 bar none. Be sure to give it a whirl!
Don’t forget to send us your stages using the form at the bottom of the page. Catch you all next week!

After waiting an age for internet to be installed in his new flat, our commuity manager Gawny finally has a stage up!
Boom Boom Bridge Brigade is a fairly straightforward level on the face of it, but can be more challenging than you’d think. There are two Boom Booms that need to be taken out before you can reach the goal, and you might have to bomb a few false walls to reach them.
Hint: Some doors are locked for a reason.

There’s been a few great desert themed stages in Mario history and this level by eric! is up there with the best of them. We love a themed stage, and the inside of a pyramid has been brilliantly constructed here.
There’s some pretty tough platforming sections to get through, and a bunch of enemies that don’t make things easy, but it’s still a fun course to reach the flag on.

Wow. Just wow. You guys send us some incredible stages but this is one of the best we’ve played, period. Jumping around a rocket ship before riding a space elevator amongst the stars was impressive enough. The use of Bloopers as space aliens though is inspired, and it really felt like I was fending off an alien invasion.
Honestly, do yourselves a favour and play this level. It’s brilliant.
Paul’s Pro Tips
Each week we’ll be featuring a ‘how to’ video from friend of the Village Paul Lloyd.
This week he’s got a cool example of how you can set your own difficulty level within a stage.
